Robert and Laura Nance: Music-&-Lyrics

DIP IN THE JORDAN

(Robert and Laura Nance)
2005-09-02
Robert was very much inspired following a teaching by Pastor Jim Misiuk to write Dip In The Jordan. When Robert finished working on the music and lyrics and played and sang it for Laura... they were both in tears... and believed God's anointing was on this song. The Harmonies added by Laura somehow became the melody... it is truly a happy inspirational country song. The Scripture is from 2Kings 5:1-14 Here is a portion of the Scripture: "Then Naaman (who had leprosy) went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of the house of Elisha. And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean." "So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean." 2Kings 5: 9,14
Dip in the Jordan seven times
Let that river's water roll over you
Let the Lord wash away your sin
You've hooked your dream to a star
Your sweat drenched brow is who you are
You can work your fingers to the bone
There's no rest for the weary 'til you're home
The ground is parched the flowers gone
The baby cries too loud, too long
Another day of hopes gone bust
Grabbin' a handful of ashes to ashes and dust to dust
I was lost, beaten down
Still full of pride, it was just a rusty crown
By Your grace Your perfect love You shared
Let me see Your face so fair
I dipped in the Jordan seven times.
Dipped in the Jordan seven times.
I let that river's water roll over me
I let Jesus wash away my sin.
Let that river's water roll over you.
Let the Lord Jesus wash away your sin.
