Robert and Laura Nance: "Everlasting-Love"
"EVERLASTING LOVE" - See-topics-Below: - October 22, 2008
GOD'S EVERLASTING LOVE:
"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"There are so many imitations of love that it is difficult to really know what true love is. Deep inside each of us, there is a yearning and a need for true love, and the world is more than happy to provide us with phony substitutes. But God has shown us what real love is. While we were still sinners, in rebellion against God, Christ died for us. We didn't deserve it, and there was nothing attractive about us. But He died for us. That is love!" (Pastor Chuck Smith,
Word for Today Bible Commentary)

THANKSGIVING PROCLAMATION - Abraham Lincoln 1863 - October 21, 2008
"It is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God; to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations are blessed whose God is the Lord."
"We know that by His divine law, nations, like individuals, are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world. May we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war which now desolates the land may be a punishment inflicted upon us for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole people?"
"We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown."
"But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us."
"It has seemed to me fit and proper that God should be solemnly, reverently, and gratefully acknowledged, as with one heart and one voice, by the whole American people. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November as a day of Thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens."
May we all give thanks and praise God for His abundant grace and mercy toward us! "HAPPY THANKSGIVING!"

GROWING IN THE SPIRIT - PRAYER - September 30, 2008
"Walking in the Garden with God"
Do you thirst? Is your garden wilted and weak? Jesus says: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". Matthew 11:28
"O God You are my God, earnestly I seek You. My soul thirsts for You, my body longs for You in a dry and weary land where there is no water." Psalm 63:1
Prayer is talking to God from my heart... Praying always in the Spirit. In our Prayertime... that precious quiet time with God... may our voices rise as incense... as sweet perfume.
Fragrant Prayer Potpourri:
Worshiping and Praising God because He is Holy, Righteous, and Worthy
Forgiveness - Forgiving those who have hurt or offended me
Submission - Desiring God's will and not mine
Intercession - Praying for the needs of others
Petition - Praying for my own needs
Thanksgiving - Thanking God for all He does and Who He is
"Rejoice always... Pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the spirit." 1Thessalonians 5:16-19
God wants to meet with you as a friend, in the quiet places of your garden. He desires to plant roses in place of the weeds; He will remove that which causes you to stumble. He will send rivers of living water into the dry, desolate places of your life with His abundant love and great blessing!
"Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" James 5:16

GROWING IN GOD'S GRACE - "THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT" - April 11, 2008
"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." Galations 5:22-23
Each variety of flower has its own personality… unique in beauty, color, form and texture.
We so enjoy our flower and vegetable gardens… It is truly a blessing to be able to have the opportunity to savor the splendor of God's gorgeous creation on a regular basis.
Our flowers… are truly delightful… roses which are delicate and fragrant with colors so unique from each other, yet each variety so precious. Sunflowers are particularly neat… as they grow they seem to be reaching with outstretched arms to the heavens above. Their cheerful faces greet the morning sun with a smile, and their uplifted heads follow its path of light throughout the day. Oh, that we would do the same. Let us greet the SON in the morning with a smile and keep our eyes focused on Him every moment of the day!
When you gather several different blooms together for a floral arrangement, they create a magnificent harmony of beauty and fragrance.
____________________________________________
This is essentially how the fruits of the Spirit should be working within and through each of us as individuals as well as how these precious fruits of the Spirit should be working within and throughout the body of Christ. Our prayers... our lives in and through Him… a beautiful, sweet smelling fragrance… .
When you allow the Master Gardener to take the single "blossom" of your life and place it in the beautiful bouquet of the body of Christ, something extraordinary happens. God's church needs the shape, color and texture that only you can give.
Have you felt the tender touch of the Master Gardener as you walked along the garden path? Has He done a little pruning? Pulled a few tares? If so, praise God, for He is tending the garden of your heart to make you ready for the ultimate harvest… that time when He will gather together, from the ends of the earth, all those who belong to Him.
_______________________________________________
"I come to the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses. And He walks with me and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own; And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known." Hymn: "In the Garden" Charles Austin Miles, 1913

THE WILL OF GOD - October 21, 2007
THE WILL OF GOD
The will of God will never take you where the grace of God cannot keep you, where the arms of God cannot support you, where the riches of God cannot supply your needs, where the power of God cannot endow you.
The will of God will never take you where the spirit of God cannot work through you, where the wisdom of God cannot teach you, where the army of God cannot protect you, where the hands of God cannot mold you.
The will of God will never take you where the love of God cannot enfold you, where the mercies of God cannot sustain you, where the peace of God cannot calm your fears, where the authority of God cannot overrule for you.
The will of God will never take you where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears, where the Word of God cannot feed you, where the miracles of God cannot be done for you, where the Omnipresence of God cannot find you.
*******************************************************************
Several years ago, a sister in Christ shared the above glorious words with us. We understand that her pastor at that time, Rick Myers had spoken these wonderful, encouraging words regarding God's will, to the congregation.
*******************************************************************
HOW MARVELOUS, HOW WONDERFUL, HOW PERFECT: THE WILL OF GOD!
"See that you walk circumspectly, (cautiously, carefully, diligently, perfectly, accurately, Spirit-filled) not as fools but as wise. Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, be not unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is." Ephesians 5: 14-17
It is important to consider how much time some of us can waste "wandering in the wilderness"… squandering precious time… missing out on God's blessings, not even concerned about God nor God's will for us. God has given man the will to make choices. We are free to choose His way... (repentance… forgiveness… salvation… eternal life…) we can walk with the True and Living Holy God… along the straight and narrow path. How astounding that we can actually be a heavenly minded people… and we can be assured that we are indeed "heaven bound". On the other hand, God allows us to ignore His Word, His Truth… and we can choose to go about "doing our own thing" as we travel the wide hell-bent road which ultimately leads us to an eternity of death and destruction. The Scriptures reveal that if we do not accept God's provision for salvation, and if we die in our sin… we will inevitably face the horrifically frightful wrath of God, which is to come… His Righteous Judgment against all the ungodly.
*******************************************************************
LIVE IN THE CENTER OF GOD'S WILL
"I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart." Psalm 40:8
"Not everyone who says to Me 'Lord, Lord', shall enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord', have we not prophesied in Your Name, cast out demons in Your Name, and done many wonders in Your Name? And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you' depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" Matthew 7:21-23
The following was written by Billy Graham:
"To know the will of God is the highest of all wisdom. Living in the center of God's will… puts the stamp of true sincerity upon our service to God. You can be miserable with much if you are out of His will; but you can have peace in your heart with little, if you are in the will of God. You can be happy in the midst of suffering if you are in God's will… you can be calm and at peace in the midst of persecution, as long as you are in the will of God. The Bible reveals that God has a plan for every life, and that if we live in constant fellowship with Him, He will direct and lead us in the fulfillment of this plan." (Billy Graham)
*******************************************************************
KNOWING AND UNDERSTANDING GOD'S WILL
The following paragraph is an excerpt from: John MacArthur's Bible Commentary.
"Knowing and understanding God's will through His Word is spiritual wisdom. For example, God's will revealed to us is that people should be SAVED (1 Timothy 2:3,4), SPIRIT-FILLED (V.18), SANCTIFIED (1Thessalonians 4:3), SUBMISSIVE (1 Peter 2:13-15), SUFFERING (1 Peter 2:20), and THANKFUL (1Thessalonians 4:3). Jesus is the supreme example for all (John 4:4, 5:19, 30; 1 Peter 4:1,2)." (John MacArthur)
*******************************************************************
WALKING WISELY IN HIS WILL
The following is a commentary (Ephesians 5:17)
by J. Vernon McGee:
"Look carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but be as wise men, buying up the time, because the days are evil. On this account become not senseless (foolish) but understanding (being prudent) what the will of the Lord is. This is another injunction regarding the walk of the believer. He is to walk wisely. His walk is to reveal the urgency of the hour and the importance of living for God. The entire objective in his walk is to stay in the will of God. He walks in the will of God as a train runs on the track. His walk in this world demonstrates that he belongs to Christ.
My friend, a Christian ought to walk in such a way that you know he is a child of God without asking him. We all need to look carefully how we walk.
The Spirit-filled believer not only walks wisely, but his Christian character is evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit."
(J. Vernon McGee)
*******************************************************************
BEING LED BY THE SPIRIT -
BEARING THE FRUIT OF HIS SPIRIT
It is amazing to realize that even though we know the Word of God is Truth and the Truth has set us free - if I am not abiding in Christ - in His Word, in Prayer, in Praise and Worship of Him and in Fellowship with Him, then I am not bearing the Fruit of His Spirit… love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control as found in Galations 5:22-23.
ARE YOU CHOOSING GOD'S WILL? - OR -
EATING FORBIDDEN FRUIT?
I recall how once during a study relating to "The Master's Garden", while in Genesis, I was typing Eve's response to God (Genesis 3:13). "And the LORD God said to the woman, 'What is this you have done?' And the woman said, 'The serpent deceived me, and I ate." My fingers somehow moved out of place on the keyboard, and I looked up to see that what I had typed looked like a bunch of gibberish - as Eve's response. How appropriate… we need to be mindful that when we do anything out of the will of God, our reasoning, description, response or excuse is merely as gibberish. The results of our gibberish can be disastrous. We must listen earnestly and longingly to hear the voice of the LORD God.
Is the Word of God planted in my heart? Am I speaking to God in prayer and listening for and to His voice each day? Am I worshiping, praising Him, and in fellowship, with other believers, on a regular basis? Am I bearing the Fruit of His Spirit?
If we can answer yes to the above…we can also trust, obey, discern and give thanks for God's perfect will in our lives.
*******************************************************************
A CHOICE - GOD'S WAY - OR - MY WAY
Before God reached down to rescue me from the filth and refuse of this world, in which I was pathetically wallowing … I can recall thinking about how cool it was to sing songs about "how sad life is" and "doing things my way". Retrospectively speaking, it grieves my heart to even begin to imagine how pitiful, sorrowful and painful my life could be today had I continued along that dark, desolate, fearful thoroughfare… not to mention that I was headed toward an eternity of darkness, unquenchable fire and weeping and gnashing of teeth… according to God's Word. (It is important to note, there is no mention in the Bible of anything that even remotely resembles "fun times in hell with friends"… so I sincerely beg you… please… please don't let yourself be deceived!)
Having already made the choice to accept God's provision for my salvation, about 30 years ago, I realize that it was definitely the most important decision I ever made in my life. There is nothing else that can even come close to the magnitude of this choice to be made… no amount of financial gain, no power , education, fame, etc… nothing that "mankind" can offer you. It is most significant to interject that not only have I never… NEVER had any regret - I have also met thousands of men, women and children who also have never regretted this decision… we only ALL agree that we wish we could have known to make the choice… much sooner! Don't procrastinate… don't wait… one day each of us will take our final breath. Only God knows that moment in time… and we can immediately expect that we will have either the True and Living God … or the god of this world (Satan)… claim our soul...
*******************************************************************
WE WANT GOD'S WILL ONLY
The Bible says…"And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the Name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the Name of the Son of God. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."
1 John 5:11-15
We must never think of praying for God to change His will to do what we want… we want His will only! Jesus gave us instruction… regarding prayer. "When you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray: 'Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven…" Matthew 6:7-10
*******************************************************************
GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD
"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."
2 Peter 3:9
If you are reading this and have not as yet surrendered your heart by accepting God's provision for you - the sacrifice of the Lamb of God… Jesus Christ who died for my sins and yours… please… don't waste any more time… surrender your heart to the True and Living God. I pray that it is God's will for you… to do so today… as only the born-again believer can be in God's will.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God." John 3:16-21
*******************************************************************
PRAY WITH US...
"O Father God, how blessed we are when we abide in Your perfect will for our lives. We Praise You Jesus for Your sacrificial, everlasting Love for us. Thank You Holy Spirit for discernment, counsel and guidance. Let this be our prayer today… that we truly seek and love You, Lord, with all of our heart, all of our soul, all of our mind, all of our strength… that we praise and worship You, God from the depths of our hearts… that we trust and obey… that we pray without ceasing… and in everything give thanks, for this is Your will for us… in Christ, Jesus… we pray… Amen."

"TREASURE" - August 20, 2007
TREASURE
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
"Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:20-21
You can never be satisfied with the "stuff" you collect. Jesus warns us against laying up earthly treasures, which will ultimately prove to be worthless. Whether you invest in earthly treasures or heavenly treasures affects who you are and where your heart is. We need to not waste too much time with temporal things; we need to keep an "eternal perspective".
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
THE SEARCH
There are millions of people in this world who are seeking, searching, longing and hoping… "Have I found what my heart has been so desperately yearning for?" Many are reaching out and grasping onto one or more of the tempting "offerings" or "prizes", the endless options set before them. "Will this satisfy?"… "Will this power, this financial gain, this person, this opportunity for fame, etc. be the answer? Will it fill the deep well of emptiness within?"
Those of us who have been down that road in the past understand what the "quest" is like… how exhausting and futile it can seem as you continue along. If you have stopped by to view this website, and are currently searching and traveling along that wide, bleak road, you are most likely asking yourself…. "what is this all about?… why should I choose this direction?… is this right… or is this weird? Will this choice fill the void within me…? will it take away the pain? will it bring me the love, the everlasting love… the peace… the inner joy I so ravenously desire?" Having "been there and done that" we know all too well what it is like; but, you know something? At this moment you have made an outstanding choice… there is great "treasure" to be found! Let these words you are about to read be included as part of your "search". Please read on.

"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is 'born again', he cannot see the Kingdom of God." John 3:3
"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." John 3: 5,6
"Do not marvel that I said to you, 'you must be born again." John 3:7
"No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that 'whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:13,14,15
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. A SPECIAL COMMENTARY:
The following comments (excerpts) from John 3:3 are written by Pastor Chuck Smith.
"There is a work of God's Spirit within a person's life whereby that person comes into a whole new dimension of life, the dimension of the Spirit."
"Man was created as a threefold being, with a body, a soul, and a spirit. We were designed to have our spirit rule over our body and soul. But because of our rebellion against God, we become spiritually dead, and our flesh rules. What God wants to do is to revive our spirit, bringing it back to life by its being filled with the Spirit of God. Then, walking in the Spirit, we experience a new life; and being born again, of the Spirit, we can now understand what God wants to say to us."
"In John 3:16, Jesus wasn't just talking about quantity of life here. He was talking about a quality of life. Quantity of life without quality is hell. Jesus has given us a rich life of inestimable quality that also happens to go on forever. What a glorious truth!"
"God's purpose for your life is not that you would perish, but that you would have a rich, full life that lasts forever. 'Truth' is so profound that with all my years of study I can't fully comprehend it."
"Before we came to Christ we were at war with God. We were rebels against the laws of God, feeling that they were too restrictive. We believed the lies of Satan as he made sin seem attractive. He blinded us to the fact that sin was destroying us. So we fought against God, not realizing that He was trying to save us. We knew we were at war, but we didn't know that we were fighting against God. Then Jesus told us: 'Come to Me... and I will give you rest.' Matt 11:28 - and when we surrender to Him and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we suddenly realize that the war is over. I'm no longer fighting against God. There is such peace! There is such rest! To know that God is now on my side!"
"This brings up this issue we all must face. Have I been born again? Have I been born of the Spirit? If you haven't you can't enter the kingdom of God. If you haven't, you can't understand the things of God."
(Pastor Chuck Smith - Word for Today Bible - Commentary)

GODS GIFT - TREASURE - ETERNAL LIFE - IN HIS KINGDOM
If you are not as yet a 'child of God'… "born again"… if you do not know the peace and assurance of walking in the Spirit… Please believe that God has a plan for your life. God loves you! He desires to show you that He is real. Will you pray with us (this very minute - don't wait) and ask for God's cleansing, His forgiveness and His peace? Pray for God to place an understanding deep within your heart… that you must be "born again".
The Bible says… "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". Romans 3:23 "He (Jesus) personally carried the load of our sins in his own body when he died on the cross…" 1 Peter 2:24
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His Name." John 1:12

TREASURE FROM THE HEART OF GOD
As Christians we have received our salvation… we are victorious through the sacrificial blood of the Lamb… the finished work of Christ at the cross. Christ died for us, that we might live eternally… with God! Is that not the most amazing precious promise or "treasure" that we glean… and come to understand… as we search the Scriptures? Once we comprehend the depth of this great Truth we are open to receive all of the many treasures God reveals in His Word.
We need be aware of how great a privilege it is for us to be able to be continually "filled"… no void, no emptiness, no bondage. In Christ we are free. Our hearts and minds can be ever overflowing with joy, peace, hope and love… ahhh, yes… "everlasting love"… no matter what the circumstances… no matter what the "season of our lives"!
We should each have a constant desire to study and to search the Word of God - to seek after "wisdom", "understanding" and "discernment". When Jesus is truly our Savior and Lord… the Holy Spirit guides us as we study the Word each day. As children of the King, we need to approach the Scriptures with a passion… really looking for "The Truth", as if we would be seeking after silver… gold… precious jewels… hidden treasure.
"My son, if you receive My Words, and treasure My Commands within you so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding, Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God." Proverbs 2:1-5
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
OUR PRAYER FOR YOU:
"That your hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in Whom are hidden all of the 'treasures' of Wisdom and Knowledge. As you have therefore, received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in the faith." Colossians 2:2,3,6,7.
Our Love in Jesus,

"Oh give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His Name. Make known His deeds among the peoples. Sing to Him, sing Psalms to Him; talk of all His wondrous works. Glory in His Holy Name." Psalm 105:1-3
We had the blessing of participating in a call-in radio program "Let it Grow", an outreach of Maranatha Church of the Nazarene, Paramus, New Jersey... which is broadcast in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
We got to speak for a while with our good friend Charlie Rizzo. Charlie is Senior Pastor of Maranatha Church of the Nazarene. He was our Pastor when we lived in New Jersey, and he performed our Wedding Ceremony in 1982. It was great fun speaking with him; he played several songs from our CD on that radio broadcast, as well.
We look forward to sharing some of our music at his church the next time we are in the area.

Our company name is R&L Music and Design. We are working on some neat projects about which, as they become available, you will be hearing more.
One of Laura's specialties is Computer Graphics. She has created various pictures, greeting cards, CD designs, business cards, etc. using original artwork and/or in some cases photographs included with the artwork. Her three panel depiction of her life from the decision to go into show business to the 2nd frame traveling around the world as a nightclub entertainer to the 3rd frame a scene where Robert and Laura share a special song on their Wedding Day - explodes with color and emotion - it is awesome!
